Jade Mountain Meets Taroko

Jade Mountain, Taiwan’s highest peak, and Taroko Gorge, known for its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls, capture the natural beauty of the island.
My family is from Taiwan, and I painted this mural to bring a piece of that beauty closer to home—a reminder of its mountains, waterfalls, and landscapes.
Empathetic Ear

Elephants have a positive symbolic meaning globally, and are considered as symbols of good luck, power, success wisdom and experience.
This was my first time working with charcoal. I enjoyed how forgiving the medium was: I could blend away a line or lift a smudge with a paper towel, letting the drawing take shape as I went.
Lotus Fire

In Buddhism, Lotus is an important symbol of non attachment: it remains firmly planted in the mud while growing high above the water’s surface, unsullied by the dirt that surrounds it.
The lotus has long been my favorite flower for the way it rises from the mud and blooms above the water. I painted its petals like flames to reflect my hope to live with the same resilience and share my passion with others.
Flower of Bali

Frangipani, Bali’s signature flower, are often seen in religious ceremonies, offerings, or decoration. Based on Hindu philosophy, these flowers can be interpreted as natural extracts that bring enlightenment and saris of goodness.
I first encountered frangipani at a spa in Bali, where I chose its scent for a massage oil. Its fragrance stayed with me long after the trip, bringing back the memory of one of the most relaxing afternoons I’ve ever had.
Quiet Mountain Tops

Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of spring and renewal. Although their lifespan is short, many people go still out of the way to catch a glimpse of its beauty.
My grandparents used to travel to Japan to see the cherry blossoms bloom. In photos from those trips, they look so peaceful, surrounded by nature. I placed this tree among gray mountain peaks to capture that feeling and the unexpected beauty of finding blossoms in a quiet, remote place.
